PoliMi visits ISA

The working group formed by the specialists from Politecnico di Milano, Università di Parma and Assorestauro operated together with the staff of the ISA and the Cuban colleagues of the Facultad Artes de Conservación del Patrimonio Cultural. They collaborated in the development of the project, in particular:
- WP1-Analysis & documentation of the site
- WP2-Conservation & restoration activities
- WP5-Development of the management strategy and tools
Engineers from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (PoliMi) conducted the surveys on the Rio Qibú (WP3-Landscape management & flood risk assessment and mitigation), and met the Cuban specialists of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH)
Architects from Politecnico met Cubasolar specialists who illustrated the country’s energy strategies on the use of renewable sources (WP4-Energy & environmental sustainability). Two workshops were organized by Assorestauro and InnovaCuba between ISA Campus and Havana Vieja (June 18-20):

Thanks to the irreplaceable aid of the Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Culture, the entire mission was a great opportunity for cultural exchange and international collaboration, and allowed an important step forward in the development of the ISA Conservation and Management Plan.
Triennale di Milano - XXII International Exhibition

Exhibition from March - September, 2019
This year exhibition is titled Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival. It is curated by Paola Antonelli*. The Management Plan and some Schools’ photographs were presented inside the Cuban Pavilion.
La Triennale reaffirms its decision to continue the tradition of the International Exhibition, the XXI edition was held in 2016 after a twenty-year hiatus.
The exhibition is composed by 21 International Participations that represent all continents by offering different themes, perspectives and contexts.

Vittorio Garatti Visit

Architect Vittorio Garatti (aged 90) guided a visit through the ISA facilities.
